2.5” Dual/Single SATA III Drive, 6 Gbps, single-width AMC

A MicroTCA storage AMC module is a plug-in storage board for a MicroTCA chassis.

It usually fits into an AMC slot and provides local data storage using devices such as:

  • NVMe SSDs
  • SATA SSDs
  • Flash memory
  • Sometimes multiple drives arranged for higher capacity or redundancy

The module connects to the MicroTCA backplane through interfaces PCIe, SATA, or Ethernet, depending on the design.

Typical used for recording high-speed ADC or RF data, storing measurement results, holding operating systems and application software, buffering data before network transfer and providing local storage for a processor AMC.

As a standardized platform of PICMG MicroTCA systems are typically used in medical applications, telecommunications, defense as well as in measurement systems for industrial and scientific applications (e.g. particle physics).

Description:

AMC624 is designed specifically for dual or single 2.5″ SATA III hard disk drive that allows speeds of 6 Gbps based on the latest specification. The single module, mid-size AdvancedMCTM (AMC) form factor is based on the AMC.3 specification.

The Unit is an ideal AdvancedMC storage module for high speed requirements at a lower cost. The single disk option supports a mid-size front panel and can route to Port 2 or Port 3. Standard 8 HP front panel size is also available.
