AMC233

XLAUI/XFI to QSFP+ Interface for 40G/10G, single-width AMC

A MicroTCA network interface module is an AMC plug-in board that connects a MicroTCA system to external networks or provides additional network links inside the chassis.

It may support:

  • Ethernet speeds such as 1, 10, 25, 40, or 100 Gigabit Ethernet
  • Copper, SFP, SFP+, SFP28, or QSFP optical interfaces
  • PCIe or Ethernet connections through the MicroTCA backplane
  • Packet filtering, switching, timestamping, or protocol offload
  • Specialized networking such as Fibre Channel or time-sensitive networking

Common uses include transferring measurement data, connecting the chassis to servers, linking multiple MicroTCA systems, and providing high-speed communication for radar, telecommunications, and scientific instruments.

As a standardized platform of PICMG MicroTCA systems are typically used in medical applications, telecommunications as well as in measurement systems for industrial and scientific applications (e.g. particle physics).

Description:

AMC233 is a single-module, mid-size AdvancedMC™ (AMC) based on the AMC.2 specification (full-size option available). The AMC233 provides 40GbE or quad 10GbE via each of the two QSFP+ Ports.

The unit converts Ports 4-7 and 8-11 from XLAUI or XFI to Fiber/Copper. This allows the ports to be uplink to other systems via front panel. The module allows a mix of 40GbE and 10GbE mode per port.

The PRBS feature allows testing frequency-offset crosstalk between input path and outputpath.

Key Features:

  • Network interface board with dual QSFP+ Ports
  • AMC.2 compliant
  • 40GbE or (4x) 10GbE via the QSFP+ Ports
  • XLPPI-to-XLAUI/XFI operation
  • EDC supporting SR4, LR4 and copper CR4
  • Optional PCS 64B/66B scrambler/descrambler (in 4x10G Mode)
  • PRBS loopback
  • OS independent
