Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ FPGA, Dual FMC+ Carrier, double-width AMC

The MicroTCA dual FMC+ Carrier board with Zynq Ultrascale+ FPGA allows extremely flexible solutions by combining a high performance FPGA for high-speed digital processing and two FMC+ connectors for attaching specialized I/O mezzanine cards like ADCs, DACs, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, SFP+, QSFP+ as well as NVMe storage and others.

The main parts are:

FPGA: performs real-time processing, control, filtering, triggering, data conversion, or protocol handling.
FMC+ interface: accepts an FMC+ module such as an ADC, DAC, RF transceiver, camera interface, timing card, or custom I/O board.
MicroTCA backplane connection: carries data through PCIe, Ethernet, Serial RapidIO, JESD204, or other high-speed links, depending on the design.
Clocking and management: receives reference clocks and is monitored through the MicroTCA management system.

As a standardized platform of PICMG MicroTCA systems are typically used in medical applications, telecommunications, defense as well as in measurement systems for industrial and scientific applications (e.g. particle physics).

Description:

AMC560 is an AMC FPGA Carrier with dual FMC+ (VITA 57) interfaces. The AMC is compliant to AMC.1, AMC.2, AMC.3 and AMC.4 specifications. The unit has an on-board, re-configurable FPGA which interfaces directly to the AMC FCLKA, TCLKA-D, FMC+ DP0-16 and all FMC+ LA/HA/HB pairs. The FPGA has an interface to a single DDR4 memory channel (64-bit wide with ECC). This allows for large buffer sizes to be stored during processing as well as for queuing the data to the host.

The AMC is based on Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ XCZU19EG MPSoC FPGA with dual FMC+ sites.

The FPGA has 1968 DSP Slices and 1143k logic cells. The XCZU19EG includes a quad-core ARM processor.

The Module has on board 64 GB of Flash, 128 MB of boot flash and an SD Card as an option.

Linux OS is standard on the AMC560.

AMC560 is also available as conduction cooled standalone unit.
